Ellen Zegura, DSc 1993, is one of the newest IEEE fellows.
IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation.
Ellen Zegura earned a doctoral degree in Computer Science in 1993 under the advising of Jonathan Turner. Since then, she has been a member of the faculty at Georgia Institute of Technology College of Computing. She has served as interim dean and associate dean of the college and is currently the chair of the School of Computer Science. In addition, she is actively involved in Computer For Good, an effort to develop and apply computer science to solve pressing societal problems.
